This time around, the Guild takes a look at the emerging scene in Atlanta through the eyes of five of the city's top sommeliers.
Why Atlanta? In the words of Eric Crane

RE: Sommelier Spotlight: Atlanta

Nice job, Eric. Most people outside of Atlanta are typically enchanted by what they find here wine-wise. Folks who live here have come to expect to be enchanted by our wine offerings...and service.

First and foremost Eric is an outstanding person and could easily replace the six degrees from Kevin Bacon game with six degrees from Eric Crane, if you don't know Eric you at least know of him.

He is the most interesting Sommelier in the world.... His wine reviews carry weight that would break most critics jaws, Cuba imports cigars from him and lesser sommeliers plead to rinse his tastevin.

What does he drink when he's thirsty?

Well there's that time in Augusta that we finished multiple, partial bottles of wine in 20 minutes......In the back of a stretch limo, that's right I said limo. Eric rolls hard on his home turf.

Or that night in Savannah looking for a Karaoke bar after multiple craft beers, BTW when he dances it's like kickboxing set to music.

Or that time in Columbus that put's the "Hangover" to shame, from beer, wine, fernet, Sazeracs, you get the point. Not to mention earlier that day he did a once in a lifetime impersonation of the biggest sommelier I've ever met (who shall remain nameless unless they want to chime in) and lived to talk about it.

If I may borrow Erics occasional motto.... "Making great poor decisions together"!

Stay thirsty my friend.
